Scripture is clear that one of the most outstanding things about Christians should be their relationships.
But the truth of the matter is that people are messy.

I’d keep you operating individually, not seeing your need for the church or tying yourself too closely to its mission. Do not be deceived by the enemy’s schemes to bring disunity to your relationships.

The way we relate to one another should be so lavishly loving and distinctly different than the way the rest of the world relates, that we should automatically be identified as disciples of Jesus.
Unfortunately, love for one another isn’t the predominant reputation in our Christian culture today.
According to these verses, common ways the enemy brings division and disunity to our relationships is through jealousy, bitterness, selfishness, and arrogance.

- How has “church hurt” effected your relationships?
- What are the fruits of the spirit?
- Are there relationships in your life that you need to pray fervently to God asking for the fruits of the Holy Spirit? If so, which relationships?
Prayer Strategy
Write Your Prayer: Use your prayer cards and write a prayer asking God to strengthen your relationships!
Here are some scriptures you might consider adding into your prayer strategy for your relationships:
- We are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming. Eph. 4:14
- Let us not love with word or with tongue, but indeed and truth. 1 John 3:18
- Let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this – not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s way. Romans 14:13
- Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25
